I am running for the position of Village Justice to fill out the balance of the four year term of Judge Joel Carr. He resigned last December after having contributed many devoted years of various services to the Village. There are three years left to his term. Background: Joan and I came to Saltaire 25 years ago with kids in tow and like most families, it was a case of love at first sight. Our experience has been repeated countless times by those before and after we arrived. I've heard it called the Saltaire Mystique; this should be preserved for generations to come. It's obvious that nothing so attractive and enjoyable just happens to be there without the hard work of so many people who contribute of their time and talents. We are a Village of dedicated employees, caring residents and many volunteers willing to give back something for what we get in return. I was on the Board of the Saltaire Citizens' Advisory Association for three years and am currently in my third year on the Saltaire Zoning Board of Appeals, presently serving as Chairperson. I am anxious to contribute more of my time and legal experience by serving as Village Justice for the next three years. Experience: Admitted to the Washington DC Bar in 1957 and New York State in 1958. Admitted to US District Court Southern and Eastern District NY and US Supreme Court. Practicing law for forty five years and a member of several Bar Associations including Past President Eastchester Bar Association. I've been active in many civic associations, Rotary, Exchange Club-past president, Red Cross-past branch chairman, Chamber of Commerce-past president and spent five years on the bench as the Director of Traffic Violations in Bronxville, NY. Based on my years of court experience and my present status as a semi-retired lawyer, I have the qualifications and the time to do an excellent job for our Village. Thank you for your consideration.
