 Re-Elect Bob Cox as Trustee

I am writing to announce my intent to stand for re-election for the position of Village Trustee.  I have served you in that capacity for the past two years and have, I believe, demonstrated my ability as a hard working, fair-minded and insightful village official.

I ran for the first time because I felt I would bring balance, good judgment and a fresh perspective to a Board that seemed to need change.  I believe that I have demonstrated those characteristics and that I have had a part in making the Board one that now functions much more effectively.

In my two years of service I have learned much about the issues affecting our village.  This knowledge has made me a valuable part of the governing of our Village.   I believe that there is a tremendous advantage to the Village in having experience and continuity.  This is not to say that incumbency is to be supported in and of itself, but rather that a strong track record of successful service, coupled with the detailed knowledge of the issues facing the village and the Board, makes me more valuable to the Village than someone who is new to the process.

During the past two years I have served in many capacities.  I have handled legislative and legal affairs.   Most recently, I have over seen the area of Public Health and Safety, which includes the Security department, the Fire Company, and the Lifeguards.  Among other things, I have worked hard to rebalance the interactions between the village and the fire company and I believe that we now have a better working relationship than we have had in many years.

As a Board we have had to face and will continue to face many difficult issues.  The resolution of those issues is made all the more difficult when facing divergent and passionate views of many friends and neighbors throughout the village.  Some times that meant taking positions that some of you have not agreed with.    However, in all cases I have addressed these issues with an open mind and a commitment to the best interests of the Village as a whole.

My roots in this community are deep.  I believe that we can maintain the essence of the Village that has been so vital to us all.  I know I will be an asset to you on the Board.

I seek your support in my campaign for re-election.
